"Hanging-Out" After the Congreso
Puerto Rico on July 30, 2000

Early on Sunday people started to leave, the Congress was over, the party was over; but not for us. Fernando left us around 4:00pm and I took over.
The first pictures are at the swimming pool with the last sunshine of the day. That evening we went to "El Viejo San Juan"; at the lobby we met some Italian friends. In San Juan there was a "Feria" with a live concert with two of my favorites artists Willie Rosario and Tony Vega , there we met the rest of the people that stayed in the island and the local "Salseros". We had the pleasure to see Manolo Rodriguez playing Timbales on stage with Tony Vega , to me that was the best performance and the best gift before I left Puerto Rico. God bless you Manuel !!!!!!
We also had the opportunity to see dancing on stage Albert Torres, Rebecca Sweet, Rosa Collantes and Manuel, who were invited by Tony Vega.
The concert finished but the party just started for us. From there we went to the Marriott Hotel in Condado, were a local band was playing Salsa, we had a couple of drinks there and then we headed to Havana Club a very small place in Isla Verde, but with a lot of character, friendly people and good music.
We met a new friend on our way there Jimmy our Taxi driver, whom we convinced to come to dance with us; he loved it !! Hopefully next year we will see him at the Salsa Congress.
At the Havana Club we were happy and lucky to met one of the best dancers in P.R and the world, who wasn’t present at the Salsa Congress, Felipe Polanco, dancing with him was another gift.
Somehow everybody ended in this place, we danced, and danced until we burn the last energy we had left after the great week full of Salsa, Sun, and Sea.
The next day we enjoyed the peace at the swimming and the last sunshine for us in P.R. Until next year!!!!
