Nicky Marrero played a smoking set of Solid Salsa with his band the Nueva Tipica at the Village Underground in New York City on April 20, 2002. The band is tight and the sound is rock solid. The spontaneity and the versatility of each band member is impressive. They played the best salsa that I have heard in a long time! Also, New York's own DJ Medina was spinning his particular Cuban sound mixed with clasic NY salsa.
