DJ Elvira is a Venezuelan born Latin DJ that "spins" Pure Salsa at Nell's on Wednesdays. She has "spun" at the Copacabana nightclub and at the Congreso Bacardi de la Salsa, as well as El Flamingo, Bistro Latino, SOB's, Club Monaco, "Side Street, Parlour Cafe and Exchange Club, Mambo at China Club. In addition she has "spun" at various London salsa venues. Watch out for her new parties! .

Guys, I just got back from Nells' Cuban night with Candela. What's going on the mainfloor is nice! Very nice!!! But you also NEED to check out what's going on downstairs. There's this hot chick from Venezuela, her name is Elvira and she spins the best salsa ever. No snare drum afinque interrupting back beat B.S! Just straight up stuff you would play in your home! check ... (out her) ... playlist out! ....My friend I didn't want to leave! The music was so good that I didn't even want to play any music in the car. At first I thought that the stuff Elvira played the first time around in Nells was a fluke. I am glad I was wrong! I went out to this real nice place in Washington Heights, and sure enough as the door opened I immediately felt the afinque of a track I never heard before. I looked over at the DJ booth and sure enough there was Elvira. I approached her to say hello, she greeted me, and thereafter I was by the bar just watching the incredible dancers cut the rug up ... An endless barrage of salsa was dished out. To make a long story short, No mixing and remixing, no fade outs! Elvira is the real deal! I am quite confident that on any given night of the week... (Nells on Wednesday, China Club on Thursday, and Cafe Largo on Friday) Elvira will leave the most cynical and bitter fan of hardcore salsa begging for more. Nestor Louis

As a fellow DJ I can attest to Elivra being pure to the music of Salsa/Mambo. She has one of the best dance collections around and I love the way she plays.
