These photographs were taken at various salsa nightclubs and venues, congresses and conventions, and dance socials during 1999 to 2002 by J. Fernando Lamadrid. Most every shot is full frame and un-posed and taken spontaneously while people are dancing or interacting candidly. Many of these photographs appeared in the Spanish language newspaer el diario/La Prensa in the weekly Wednesday centerfold titled "Nueva York de Noche".
